Welcome to Part Two of the #73Questions Challenge! If you missed Part One, you’re more than welcome to check that out. Find out the answers to questions like: What is my favourite food/author/book? Through these questions I hope that you can get to know me a little better, as that’s not always easy for a writer that uses a pseudonym!
So, how about we get going? Let’s go!
38. What’s the best surprise you’ve ever given anyone?
I’m not a fan of having surprises sprung on me, so I tend not to do it to others, but I did buy my friend a big round cushion with a picture of her face on recently. That was hilarious.
39. Do you like muffins?
Yes! I’m a huge fan of sweet treats and baking, and will be sharing some of my favourites with you all #ontheblog every Sunday as part of my ‘Recipe Corner‘ series!
40. Do you cook often?
All the time. That doesn’t mean I’m particularly good at it though!
41. What’s your favourite dessert?
Oooh this is a tough one. In winter, a hot sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream. In summer, something refreshing like an eton mess or a slice of lemon tart.
42. Is there a dessert you don’t like?
Um. I’m not really a huge fan of desserts that contain mixed peel or dried fruit, that kind of thing. It’s just not for me. But generally, I love any dessert.
43. Cake or pie?
Cake. Any cake. All the time.
44. What’s your least favourite food?
I’d say coconut, which is a strange one. I really love the flavour of coconut, and coconut milk – but I really dislike fresh coconut and especially the dried desiccated coconut. It tastes like sawdust! It’s a strange complex I have, I like some but not others. I’m a fussy coconut eater.
45. What’s your favourite condiment?
Mayo. Lots of it.
46. It’s 4am on a Saturday night, what would you eat?
A cookie and a glass of milk. Wait – that sounds so lame. But true.
47. If you could teach a college class what would it be called?
Humanity Awareness 101. We spend so much time looking at ourselves and not thinking about how we can help others in the world, there’s so many people out there that need your voice and actions to help them. It’s so easy to turn a blind eye.
48. Best animated film?
I’m not a huge animated film person, but I recently enjoyed Pixar’s Inside Out that I discovered by chance. Such a great subject covered brilliantly.
49. What has a guy done or said to impress you?
Cried during tough times. Real men cry. Get over it.
50. Best thing to do on a first date?
Something relaxed with little pressure, like a coffee date or even a hike.
51. Worst thing to do on a first date?
See a movie. It’s kinda difficult to get to know someone when you’re sat in silence.
52. What’s the funniest pick up line a guy could use on a girl?
Any of them. All of them. Any of the time. All of the time.
53. Best comic book character?
I’m not sure I’ve ever read a comic book… Wow.
54. What are three things that are always in your bag?
A notepad, a snack, and some water. As long as I have food and something to write on, I’m all good.
55. Favourite drink?
Coffee. Tea. Water. I’m not really one for soda etc.
56. If you could play a historical character who would it be?
Oh hm. Maybe somebody like Charles Darwin. It must have been tough for folks not to have believed in his theories of evolution at the time he was working on them.
57. Kittens or puppies?
Puppies. Doggos every time!
58. Favourite sushi roll?
Wait, they have names? I’d go for the ones that have salmon and cream cheese, chives.. little hit of soy and wasabi. Does this have a name? Let me know. Send me some.
59. What kind of lipstick do you use?
So. This isn’t a thing.
60. What kind of foundation do you use?
Also not a thing. Although I will say I do often steal concealer to cover up any aggressive blemishes.
61. Blow dry or air dry?
Blow dry if I have time. Why wouldn’t you?
62. Who is your fashion icon?
I’d say someone with a slightly alternative/rocky style like Adam Lambert.
63. Favourite Disney character?
The reindeer from Frozen. How cute is that thing?
64. What are you doing tomorrow?
Meeting some family for the weekend whilst the weather’s nice!
65. Movie you laughed the hardest through?
Anything with Melissa McCarthy. No, some of her films aren’t too great actually, but some of her earlier stuff like The Heat and St. Vincent are fabulous. Comedy genius.
66. Movie that made you cry?
I’m one of those people that never cries at movies, so I’m a tough one to crack. BUT Recently, I’d say Wonder. Such a beautiful film focusing on a boy with facial differences, it’s also a great book.
67. If you could sing a duet with someone who would it be?
Dolly Parton, an absolute legend.
68. If your life was a song what would the title be?
I’m A Mess by Bebe Rexha is a pretty great example.
69. What’s your favourite animal?
Oh, it has to be goats, doesn’t it?! Or Dogs.
70. Favourite illustrator?
I honestly wouldn’t know where to begin with this.
71. Person you want to have coffee with?
I’d love to sit down and have a coffee with Donald Trump and be like – Hey, what the hell are you doing? Seriously, he’s such a complex guy with so much media attention I’d just like to see what’s real and what isn’t.
72. What’s a country you wish to visit?
ICELAND! It looks so beautiful and serene. I think it would be the perfect short break to relax. I’m sure I’d get some great inspiration from writing also. The featured image in this post is of mountain terrain in Iceland. Isn’t it beautiful?
73. Best way to decompress?
A nice long walk on a reasonably hot day with a gentle breeze. Calming music. Tea.
So that’s it! Now you know a little bit more about me…
- I’ve never read a comic book
- I’m super fussy about coconuts
- One day I’d love to visit Iceland
- Goats are also really cool
